Max: Andrew! Andrew! Mommy got stung by a bee with a jacket on!

Andrew: Max, bee's don't wear jackets!

Max: Yes they do - Mommy said this one had on a yellow jacket!

Ladies night

Can you believe we've been friends for more than a decade?! We've seen each other through so many phases... college, marriage, babies, kids, big kids, college bound kids! I love these three ladies and I hope we take this picture again every year until our hair turns blue! For those of you who don't know these friends of mine they are (from left) Carol Keith, Tami Pape and Heather Shah (the one on the right is me!) Three of the best friends a girl can ever hope to have. I love you , gals and go Tigers!

The birds and the bees continued...

This morning the boys were talking about my sister's teacup Maltese, Maisy. Max said he wanted one of her babies and Drew said she couldn't have babies. Max replied that all we needed to do was bring Dewey (my dad's dog) over and he could "sprinkle that powdery stuff on Maisy's eggs, right mom?"

I am finding my hole to be so deep I can't see the top anymore! help!

The birds and the bees

How did Julian's cat have babies without a husband? Max asked.

The cat doesn't have to have a husband, but there has to be a boy cat for a girl cat to have babies.

Why does there need to be a boy cat? Julian only has a girl cat and it had babies.

There needs to be a boy cat to "pollenate the flower" like bees do.

What does that mean?

Well, girl cats have eggs that need to be pollenated by boy cats.

Cats don't lay eggs!

I didn't say they LAID eggs (crap!), I said they HAD eggs.

Where are they?

They're inside the cat.

So how does the pollen get there?

The boy cat puts it there.

Do you have eggs?

yes.

Did daddy pollenate them?

yes.

How did he do it?

That's a good question, go ask Daddy.

Grateful

Here's to you - all the people we know and love that made our vacation so special...

Aunt Leila who so lovingly provided us with the "calm before the storm" - a moment of rest we didn't know we needed until it was all over!

Dad and Di who graciously let us invade their home, eat all their food and use all their stuff. For loving the boys and loving us!

Bob and Lisa who took the time and expense to share with us the joy of our little niece and nephew.

My sister Maggie whose contagious smile is enough to make anyone happy by sheer osmosis. Her boyfriend Zach for making me laugh so hard I almost peed myself!

Carl and Trish could you be any nicer?

Wesley for sharing yourself with the boys.

WillaBell who is an inspiration for all of you 80-somethings out there!

Uncle Jim, Gretchen and Kodi for opening their home, cupboards and especially their pool on a 100 degree day! We love you and could Kodiak be any cuter?

Granny... there are no words to describe how grateful I am to you, your presence, your guidance and love in my life. Thank you for just being there.

Jason, Romy, Julian and Lyla - for always picking up right where we left off. We love you guys!

Miss Sandy, you never change!
