Sledding

I used to love to go sledding. I could sled all day - never feel cold or pain. That's not the case anymore. Yesterday I was so excited because both G and the boys had a snow day off school. That meant, G could take them sledding while I was at work - perfect. When I walked in the door after work I was greeted with "mommy, mommy - we waited for you all day so you could go sledding with us!" Today, I feel the pain.

Soliciting Love

My grandmother (the boys' great grandmother) sent the boys Valentine cards with $5 for each of them. She was so happy when she heard that the boys loved their cards and $5. She said she wanted them to be all excited - she just didn't know how much money it would take!

Teacher conferences... again!

Last night was teacher conferences again. Max really wanted to come although he knew he'd have to wait out in the hall. G and I were ready to leave and Max was still upstairs coordinating his "outfit." He came downstairs with his old cub scout shirt on - much too tight. G told him the shirt was a little snug and did he want to put something else on? Max said: Aw dad, it's okay. I just want to represent my country!

When we got to conferences we were braced to hear what the teacher had to say. "We have been learning about American History," she said. When I asked the class which President fought to abolish slavery, Max shouted out: Abraham stinkin' linkin'!

Jamaican anyone?

On Sunday, G announced to the boys that they were going to take me out to lunch for my birthday. "Great" said Max. "We can go to the Jerk Pit!"

(some how any place with the word "pit" in it didn't seem like a good idea!)
