Last week Max visited a new school for the day. The Principal called me the next day to tell me about his visit and how he did in the class. She was very impressed with the story he wrote in his journal: When I grown up I want to be a football player and give all my money to poor kids. If we win, God gets the glory. If we lose, God gets the glory. I didn't have the heart to tell her that the first sentence was a quote from Nacho Libre and the second sentence from Facing the Giants!
Opening Day
Yesterday was opening day for the Saline Area Youth Baseball League. Both boys had a great day. Max's coach pitch team won their first game (although we are not supposed to keep score - no losers :)
Drew had his debut as the starting pitcher for his first ever kid pitch game. He faced only 4 batters. One got a single off of him, but he struck the other 3 out. Way to go Drew! He also enjoyed playing catcher as well. His team won 14-3! Nice start to the season.

Quote of the day
Driving home from our friends, we thanked the boys for being so well behaved at the cook out. I told them that it makes us proud when we go places and people tell us what great kids we have. Max replies: so you just like having us around so you can get compliments?
More birds and bees
Today we went to a cook out at my friend's home. She is an ObGyn and the boys were curious about what she does. I told them she delivers babies. Max said: you mean like storks do when they drop them into houses? Andrew said: no Max, she delivers them right to their moms - right mom? Uh, ok, sure. But how does she do that? he asks. Very carefully, I said. No really, mom, how does she do it? Well, I said, you know when you feel like you have to go to the bathroom, so you sit on the potty, push real hard? Well, it's like that, but when moms push real hard, out pops a baby. There's laughter in the back seat of the car and then I hear: no really, mom, tell us how it really happens!

More sincere than me
I was tucking Max into bed last night. I went to pull the covers up on him, and he said: no mom, I don't need covers - I'm warm because I have you in my heart. :-) Where does he get this stuff?
Postcard from the boyz
So the boys spent a few days with Papa and GranDi during their spring break. G and I got a postcard (of Sweet Pea the 40 pound shark ray who lives at the Newport Aquarium) and this is what it says:
Dear mom and dad, I really miss you. If only you were here with us. You'd have lots of fun. Love, Andrew
and
Dear mom and dad today I got a new toy I really miss you love. Max
They're the coolest and I'm happy to have them home :-)
