What does mommy do anyway?

The boys have been coming with me to work in the mornings before camp for the last two weeks. Two weeks here with me at work and they still have no idea what I do. I try to explain and they always ask the same three questions: Did you write it? No. Did you do the drawing? No. Did you take the pictures? No. Then what did you do? I made this happen. Blank stares. I put it all together so it looks like this. Blank stares.

So when asked by others, what does your mom do? The answer: we're not sure what mom does. I attempt to explain. Blank stares and then finally it comes—the words that make any graphic designer cringe: so, you make things look pretty?

Five legged friend

Yesterday Max brought home two new pets. Johnson I and Johnson II. Johnson I appears to be some sort of tree frog. Johnson II is a five legged frog! I am not much of a fan of amphibian and reptile friends, but Max thinks this is the coolest thing ever! And, he may be right. I mean have you ever seen a five legged frog? I don't know that the picture does it justice, but in between it's two hind legs is a fifth leg... the one he is holding it by! Gross!
