The other night at dinner Max said nonchalantly: I sung Happy Birthday at school today. That's cool, I said (thinking someone in his class had a birthday and the class sang together) Did your class sing together for one of your classmates? No, he said. I sang. Hmmm, well okay. Who's birthday was it? The whole schools, he said. The whole school? So your class sang happy birthday to the whole school at assembly (they do a monthly happy birthday) ? No, he said, I did. Hmmm, so YOU sang happy birthday to the whole school at assembly? Yep, he said. All 600 of them and I even had a microphone!

So the word from other sources is that Max belted the song into the microphone with no fear. Apparently he even signed up to do it! Andrew's response: Now that was embarassing!
